Lawn with French drain
A fairly large project for a medium sized lawn. The area had to be cleared of old concrete paths and shingle debris. We also discovered an old wall about 2 inches below the surface in one corner – this had to be removed so that the new lawn had space to root. The icing on the cake was the discovery of an area about the size of a bath that had been used to bury glass sheets, all of which had to be dug out. We spent a long time griddling the area to ensure we removed as much glass as possible. In addition we had to dig out a french drain at the house end of the lawn to aid drainage away from the property. After all that the actual laying of the turf was a satisfying end to the job!
